I LOVE MOVIES

It is a rare occassion that I hate a film. I believe that the film presented on the big screen is the product of someone's dream and hard work. These are my reviews. See you on the big screen!

Lone Ranger Review Coming!!

From producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Gore Verbinski, the filmmaking team behind the blockbuster “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, comes Disney/Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ “The Lone Ranger,” a thrilling adventure infused with action and humor, in which the famed masked hero is brought to life through new eyes. Native American warrior Tonto (Johnny Depp) recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Armie Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice—taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption. “The Lone Ranger” also stars Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner, Barry Pepper, James Badge Dale, Ruth Wilson and Helena Bonham Carter. A Disney/Jerry Bruckheimer Films presentation, “The Lone Ranger” is directed by Gore Verbinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and Gore Verbinski, with screen story by Ted Elliott & Terry Rossio and Justin Haythe and screenplay by Justin Haythe and Ted Elliott & Terry Rossio. “The Lone Ranger” releases in U.S. theaters on July 3, 2013.

Monster's University

All I can say is, finally. I have been waiting for this movie forever. It was worth the wait!

In the movie, we are brought back to the beginning of the unlikely friendship between Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan. As with the best of relationships, there are a lot of learning curves.

As a grand parent, I appreciated the underlying tone that anything worth having is worth working for. I brought my 3 and 6 year old grand daughters for the kids' take on the movie. Hearing the giggles from my grand daughter during the library challenge was worth sitting in a theater of small children. There are some moments near the end where the timid child may be searching for a shoulder to hide her head in. It is, after all, a movie about monsters.

Overall, I enjoyed the movie as did my grand daughters. I give this movie 5 hearts.

WELCOME TO MY MOVIE REVIEW BLOG

What qualifies me as a movie reviewer? I am the viewing public. I am fortunate enough to enjoy many free screenings, but also shell out hard earned dollars for the elusive entertainment from reality. I enjoy all genres of film from the animated to shoot 'em up bang bang flics. I can even watch the occasional horror film.

I will share my feelings about a film I have seen. Please be aware that I am human. I do have my favorite actors, directors, studios and such. They may differ from yours. That just means I can offer you a new perspective. I will not completely bash a film, no mater how bad it may seem to me. The film was an important project  to someone. I will always try to find something positive about the film I am reviewing.

That being said...
